Worship (Part 2 of 3)

Guest Speaker: Caleb Abernathy – A topical sermon

– In Part 2 of this three-week sermon series by HPBC’s music ministry leader, Caleb Abernathy, we are introduced to the subject of Worship. Through an examination of various Scriptures which pertain to this subject, we discover what Worship truly is and what it truly means verses what today’s culture has accommodated for it to mean. We are given the Biblical mandate for how to Worship properly, as well as a lesson on why Worship is such an important part of the Christian life. From all of the information present in Scripture with regard to the subject, we can extract 7 Key Pillars that comprise Biblical Worship and then apply them to how we Worship in our lives. This sermon covers the 5th Pillar.

Is Christ Enough?

Missionary: Charles Jewell – An exposition of Philippians 3:4-11

– Charles Jewell, HPBC’s Missionary to the Central African Republic, returns to our pulpit only a few short weeks following his previous visit to provide an update on the potential next steps in God’s mission in C.A.R.

Pastor Jewell also takes us through an intimate look at Paul’s priorities in Philippians. Paul is willing to give up everything he has ever had in his life for the sake of simply knowing Christ. In light of where the modern day church is, the question is raised of whether or not Christ is enough for us?
