Let God Rearrange Your Plans

Missionary: Pastor Ron Self – AM Sermon

World Missions Conference 2016

Scripture: Acts 16:6-15, 22-31

The apostle Paul had made plans for his missionary journey to travel to Asia. God, however in His infinite providence, sent Paul to Macedonia where he would plant the church at Philippi, one of the most spiritually tenacious churches of the New Testament. Pastor Ron Self, our missionary to Argentina, uses this illustration to encourage believers to pay heed as God dictates your steps.

Be Warned, for He is Risen

Pastor Matt Tarr

– Scripture: Acts 13:26-41

Easter Sunday 2015

– The resurrection of the Lord Jesus carries with it great joy for those who believe, for His resurrection is our hope. However, for the one who does not believe, Christ being raised from the dead carries with it a grave warning, for the time will come when He returns not as a sacrifice, but as a conqueror. The unbeliever then is urged, be reconciled to God and share in the joy of salvation offered through Christ alone.

Five Defining Characteristics of a Church

Missionary: Charles Jewell – An exposition of Acts 2:41-47

– Stemming from his time spent as a Christian and a missionary in Central African Republic, Pastor Charlie Jewell walks us through an exposition of a chapter in Acts which involves the earliest days of the Church. Through this passage, we are presented with five biblical principles which should be present in any Church, whether in America or abroad. God’s Church cannot be without these characteristics presented in Acts.

The Way to Build the Church

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of Acts 20 (incl. supplemental passages)

– Many men in ministry spend much time agonizing over methods for building the church. Gimmicks, programs, and marketing methods of all kinds are employed for the sake of drawing people in. But God has already laid out a plan for how His people are to function and live as the Church, and when we forego the schemes of man and do things God’s way, He is faithful to build His Church.

The Nature of Demonic Possession (Part 2)

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of Acts 19:11-20 (incl. supplemental passages)

– Of all of the sign gifts, the power to cast out unclean spirits is often one that is the most distorted and misunderstood. For a proper understanding of this sign gift with respect to the true behavior and disposition of demonic activity, we look to Scripture.

The Nature of Demonic Possession (Part 1)

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of Acts 18:22-19:20 (incl. supplemental passages)

– Of all of the sign gifts, the power to cast out unclean spirits is often one that is the most distorted and misunderstood. For a proper understanding of this sign gift with respect to the true behavior and disposition of demonic activity, we look to Scripture.

NOTE: The listener is encouraged to listen to this message together with the following message (Part 2) for proper context.

The Care of the Church

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of Acts 16:16-17:9

– Paul was willing to endure much hardship for the sake of ensuring that the church was cared for. His model of ministry is one we should all adopt, wherein we are willing to sacrifice anything and everything in the name of the brethren and the advancement of the Gospel.

Paul’s Second Journey

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of Acts 15:36-16:15

– In this exposition of Acts, we examine the events surrounding Paul’s second missionary journey which include Paul separating from Barnabas, finding Timothy, and arriving at Philippi where one of the most significant New Testament churches is planted.

“What Must I Do to Be Saved?”

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of Acts 15:1-35

– Early in the Church Age, a dispute arose among Jewish believers as to what was required of an individual in order to be saved. Some believed and taught that you needed to keep the Jewish Law, but this theory of salvation was usurped when idol-worshiping Gentiles began to be saved apart from keeping the Law. And so, just as the apostles questioned at that time, so we must also ask: “What must I do to be saved?”

It’s Not About Us

The sermon for November 25th, 2012 will not be posted on the SermonCast. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Copies are available to members of High Point Baptist Church upon request.

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of Acts 9 (incl. supplemental passages)

– Upon the conversion of Paul on the Damascus Road, his entire life became forfeit for the sake of the gospel, and he dedicated himself completely to serving the will of his master, Jesus Christ. He faced every hardship and trial imaginable, yet he never abandoned his ministry. This is an example for every Christian, as it demonstrates how one lives when their ministry is not about themselves, but rather about serving God in Christ.
