Our Gifts and Our Responsibility

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of Romans 12:6-8 (incl. supplemental passages)

– With a proper knowledge and perspective of the grace gifts God gives us for use in service to Him and to each other, we must understand that with these gifts comes a responsibility not just that we use them, but that we use them properly. A deeper study of Romans 12 and supplemental passages informs us in the proper usage of these gifts.

For the Common Good

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of 1 Corinthians 12, 13, & 14 (incl. supplemental passages)

– In this sermon, Professor Joe Schloegel provides an expositional explanation and background of the differences between grace gifts and spiritual gifts within the church. We are given a Biblical perspective on the implementation and use of both types of gifts, and come to an understanding of what the ultimate purpose of these God-granted gifts is.

Grace Gifts

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of Romans 12:3-8 (incl. supplemental passages)

– Each of the members of the church’s body has a function that is unique to them. In that spirit, God has bestowed grace gifts upon every believer to use in service to Him and to each other. But what are grace gifts, how are they identified, and what are their practical applications? A closer look at Romans 12 and a study of correlating passages yields encouraging instruction.

A Living Sacrifice

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of Romans 12:1-8 (incl. supplemental passages)

– When God commands us through Paul’s writings in Romans to present ourselves as a “living sacrifice”, what is He really asking of us? Is this merely a command to dedicate our lives to Him, or is it something far deeper? The answer affects the entire way of life for the true Christian.

There is Always a Remnant

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of Romans 11:1-6 (incl. supplemental passages)

– A widely debated topic within the Christian community is that of whether Israel or the Church inherits God’s promises and covenants. While this subject is not something that is crucial in terms of our salvation, a correct understanding of how the Lord views Israel in light of the Church is crucial in forming a proper eschatology (or, doctrine of the end times). The apostle Paul himself had to deal questions on Israel’s relation to the Church even in his day, and he spent the eleventh chapter of Romans addressing these concerns.

Is God Unjust?

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of Romans 9:19-10:9

– As we continue on through Paul’s epistle to the Romans, we find that the evangelist argues in favor of a number of doctrines which, while difficult at times, are integral to our faith. These include that of election, and salvation itself.

Who is Israel?

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of Romans 9:1-18

– There a many different theological perspectives surrounding who inherits the promises of God. Is it Israel or the church? Varying perspectives on this subject have shaped differing views on eschatology as well as dispensationalism. A close examination of Romans 9, however, gives us a biblical perspective on these subjects as God’s will in these matters is made known through the epistle.

The Kingdom is at Hand

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of Ezekiel 36:22-32 & Zechariah 14:1-5 (incl. supplemental passages)

– Before moving on to Chapter 9 in his ongoing expositional sermon series in the book of Romans, Pastor Joe Schloegel provides us with the necessary background for Romans 9 in Scripture. Specifically, we look to the Old Testament to get the proper context and understanding we need.

The Soundness of Our Salvation

Pastor Joe Schloegel – An exposition of Romans 8:29-35

– In this sermon, we return to Paul’s epistle to the Romans to further discuss the doctrine of election, along with the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints. Furthermore, we peer into the Scriptures to learn what the difference is between someone who believes, and someone who is saved.
